Jeff Ellis

Teacher

While working overseas in Europe, installing and testing air traffic control terminals in several NATO countries, I also gave some maintenance courses to operators in two of the countries there. Each session, for about a week, along with a hardware engineer and software engineer, I helped instruct the maintenance crew how to look after their new American-made equipment.

Music teacher

Starting in 1998, at the suggestion of my wife, I began teaching private music lessons. First, I auditioned for a man who was expanding his territory. Later I branched out on my own. Still later I worked for a music store. There, at my maximum, I worked two days, giving 9 half hour lessons in a row each day. All in all, I figure I'd given between 1500 and 2000 lessons, mostly piano. I had two electric bass students, each with me for a year. Had some guitar students and subbed a violin lesson or two. I play 7 instruments myself.
